Spaghetti marinara – Add your favourite seafood to simmering sauce and serve up a mean marinara topped with fresh parmesan.
Mediterranean stew – Add spicy sausage (such as chorizo or salami) and chickpeas. Serve with couscous and/or salad.
Pizza sauce – Any leftover sauce need not be wasted as it makes a fantastic base for a home-made pizza.
Spaghetti Bolognese – Cook pasta to al-dente and serve with bolognese sauce and freshly shaved parmesan – always a winner!
Mexican fiesta – Add a can of Mexican beans and seasoning and turn this into a feast of burritos, tacos or nachos.
Shepherds pie or savoury mince on toast – Add vegetables to make a hearty savoury mince. Top with mash for an easy shepherd’s pie or pile onto thick toast for those nights when it’s been a huge day and only comfort food will do.
Italian baked potato – Top a baked potato with bolognese and sprinkle with cheese. Serve with a garden salad for a stress-free light meal. A great way to use up left-over sauce.
Curry night – Serve with rice and The Hidden Pantry “Curry of the Season” for an Indian feast to remember.
Indian style bangers – Dahl goes beautifully over sausages with steamed rice – an interesting twist to bangers and mash.
Lentil dip – Serve the Dahl warm with pita chips, Turkish bread or crackers as a pre-dinner nibble – handy to have in the freezer when guests drop in.
